What Does a French Professor Do As a Volunteer on a Dig?

Hope Chandler is a French and English professor at Florida College. She has never considered volunteering for an excavation until this year.

Hope arrived at Khirbet Qeiyafa in early July to help with the excavation and learned how to do things she has never done before.

Hope did not work outdoors in the field, but she played an important role in the excavation. Find out what she has been doing for two weeks at the dig.

Hint: What happens to finds such as ancient animal bones after they are unearthed?
