The new ESV Study Bible is officially available today.  My pre-ordered Bible arrived yesterday afternoon.  I must say I’m impressed. There are plentiful maps, charts and illustrations that I believe will be useful to any Bible student or teacher. The study notes I’ve read are insightful and stimulate thought.

An inscribed fragment from a 2,000 year-old sarcophagus has been discovered near Jerusalem.  The fragment appears to have been recycled into a Muslim building at some later date.
Archaeologists believe the fragment was from the sarcophagus of a Jewish Priest who served at the 2nd Temple between A.D. 30 and 70 – during New Testament times.
